Am I high maintenance because I'm annoyed that my boyfriend never buys me anything, or does that make my boyfriend a bad boyfriend?
I really mean never. oh, there was that robe he bought me after I sent him the link and said, BUY THIS FOR ME. And the beer coozie he got me from the dollar store before vacation.
So, which is it?
And while we're pondering options here, am I unhappy because I work 12 hours a day, at least, or because my relationship is unsatisfying?

No wonder that you are in despair about what is happening in your relations. Every women wants to be loved and to get the proves of this love. But the fact that you don't receive presents from your boyfriend doesn't mean that he is "bad" as you have mentioned. He is such a person.
It does not make you anything but materialistic. That is not to say that your boyfriend couldn't use a lesson in giving you what you need; however, your expectations should reasonably match his abilities. If he can't meet your needs, tell him or dump him. Its not a matter of good or bad, its a matter of whether you satisfy each other. Ultimately, your desires are your responsibility, not his.
Think about this: Is your relationship unsatisfying just because he doesn't buy you stuff?
